Review: Cocolush Coconoix Body Scrub & Chocolate Peppermint Facial Teas

Monday, November 17, 2014

I love any skincare that's organic/chemical free and it just happened that my friend and Rebel66 model/blogger Steff Ierullo has a 100% all natural and vegan skin care line called Cocolush Skincare that you heard her speak about before on this blog. Of course I had to try it as I love supporting my friends and local independent businesses and I must say, this line is amazing.

Song of the Week - FKA Twigs "Two Weeks"

Thursday, November 13, 2014

So she won my heart over after this incredible performance on Jimmy Fallon, then she gained my respect to find out she was a backup dancer for years before making it as a solo artist.

Style Profile: Frances Bean Cobain

Tuesday, November 11, 2014

You know her as the child of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love but that child has grown up to be a gorgeous and very talented young artist with a sick sense of style. From the shades of makeup she uses and the always-changing hair, it's obvious why Frances Bean Cobain is Rebel66's latest style crush. This girl was born awesome and she definitely proved herself with her incredible art. I am in love with her edgy dark style and can we talk about how great those eyebrows are?

Song of the Week - "Ugly Boy" Die Antwoord

Tuesday, November 4, 2014

So Die Antwoord just released a new video aaaand it's amazing. Not only I am in love with the cinematography, Yo-Landi Vi$$er & DJ Hi-Tek's black contacts are also my new obsession. There are also some awesome cameos to watch out for. That's why Ugly Boy is Rebel66's song of the week! Check it out after the cut.

Song of the Week - "Miracle" by Kimbra

Thursday, October 30, 2014

This week's video is brought to you by the amazingly talented Kimbra. She just released this video the other day and it's quite different from her other videos in the way that the concept isn't as crazy as her videos usually are but HOLY SHIT the styling is incredible (as Kimbra's styling ALWAYS is).

Song of the Week - "Abracadabra" by Steve Miller Band

This week's pick is all about getting into the Hallows' Eve spirit. This song is an oldie but still SO good.

OOTD: Stripes, Leather and Crosses

Friday, October 17, 2014

OOTD: Stripes, Leather and Crosses - Tara Mason

Stripes have always been one of my fav staple patterns. It might be my love for Jack Skellington that influenced this or even that cute blonde kid from Dazed and Confused. Either way, it brings out the punk in me and I love to mix it with leather and cut out shirts. This time I rocked it with a crop top and a sheer black tank with crosses cut out on the front. I love the asymmetrical back too.

Review: Benefit Cosmetics They're Real! Push-Up Liner

Thursday, October 16, 2014

I was one of those kids in school with the thick Siouxsie Sioue like eyeliner.  From grade nine up until I finished college I wore black eyeliner.  Since I was a poor student eating ramen noodles, I couldn’t necessarily afford good quality eyeliner.  Most of the ones I bought were greasy, needed reapplying throughout the day, or just plain sucked when it came to texture, feel and longevity.

Review: MAC Cosmetics Mineralize Volcanic Ash Exfoliator

Tuesday, October 14, 2014

I am not the biggest fan of MAC's skin care products, I usually check out Sephora for skin care before MAC but this time, it's MAC that wins this competition. I've been on the hunt for a good exfoliator for a while and while picking up Lorde's amazing lip colour, I happened to stumble across the Mineralize Volcanic Ash Exfoliator.

Style Profile: Stevie Nicks

Thursday, October 9, 2014

Stevie Nicks has always been the ultimate queen of style. With her “don’t give a fuck” attitude and her incredible shawls, she is by far my number 1 style icon. I’ve looked up to her ever since I heard her amazing voice singing in what is now one of the most influential bands ever, Fleetwood Mac, and have been completely obsessed ever since. From her being called a white witch to her appearancein American Horror Story, her music and style will always be beyond next level.

Recipe: Whipped Strawberry Mousse

Wednesday, October 8, 2014

So this recipe I whipped together (pun fully intended) a couple of days ago after picking up this really cool Mousse cookbook. I am a huge mousse and whipped cream fan and decided to learn how to make it on my own. This recipe is a hybrid between them both so if you're a sweet fan, you will definitely love this and it's super easy to make.

Review: La Roche-Posay moisturizers ‘Hydraphase Intense Riche’, ‘ Toleriane Ultra’ & ‘Hydreane Light’

Tuesday, October 7, 2014

Wintertime is fast approaching and as much as I love the idea spending time wrapped in oversized sweaters sipping on Starbucks’ Caramel Brûlé Latte by the roaring fire, the realist in me is knows my skin is going to battle.

I’ve heard excellent reviews from people suffering from sensitive skin experiencing immediate relief by using La Roche-Posay products.  Their product range is paraben-free – a huge plus.  I decided to try these moisturizers out for two weeks and compare the pros and cons.

Review: Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray

Monday, October 6, 2014

Throughout my years of makeup wearing, the number 1 problem I had was it lasting long enough without smudging or fading. I asked one of my makeup artist friends what I could do to prevent this and she suggested to use a makeup setting spray once I'm done applying. I had no idea that kind of thing even existed until then. So I did some research, went to Sephora and ended up leaving with Urban Decay's Chill Makeup Setting Spray.

Bath salts have been known to be an incredible form of relaxation and healing. Whether it's tired muscles or just a bad day, bath salts will help cure your problems and melt them away. Epsom salt has many health benefits including easing stress, relieves pain, helps prevent hardening of arteries and blood clots and removes the toxins from our body. Review: Lush Fresh Face Masks 'Brazened Honey' & 'Cosmetic Warrior'

Monday, September 29, 2014

I had been dying to try Lush Fresh Face Masks for FOREVER, but they always seem to be out of stock. The other day I finally got my hands on the last two pots in the fridge, Brazened Honey and Cosmetic Warrior which I have heard wonderful things about.

How To Make A Floral Smudge Stick

Friday, September 26, 2014

What's a smudge stick you ask? A smudge stick is essentially a bound bundle of white sage and herbs that is later burned to release a fragrant smoke. It can be used as an all natural incense, a bug repellent or depending on your spiritual beliefs, it is known to be a spiritual cleansing technique that has been used for thousands of years in rituals and ceremonies to rid negative energy from a person or a space. Floral smudge sticks are very fragrant and gorgeous to have around. Here are our step-by-step instructions on how to make your very own floral smudge stick!

Tuesday, September 23, 2014

So if you can't already tell, I am a huge beauty product nerd and love trying out new things. I decided to share with you what products I'm currently using and what I use religiously.

Review: Lena Dunham at JFL42

Monday, September 22, 2014

To start this off, I am going to say what a HUGE fan of Lena Dunham I am. I love all of her work including her writing, directing and acting on Girls, her film Tiny Furniture and the many cameos she's made in the recent years. I think she is absolutely brilliant, fearless and the honesty that the world needs right now.

Review: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Enhancing Serum Advanced

Thursday, September 18, 2014

In high school, I made the huge mistake of paying $5 to get my eyebrows threaded at some small strip mall salon called Canadiana down the street. So basically, I have pretty much no eyebrows. I mean, one side is literally almost gone. I pencil them in every day but that can get pretty exhausting so one day when I was browsing at Sephora, I decided to take my chances on the Anastastia Bevery Hills Brow Enhancing Serum.

Rebel Rebel

Wednesday, September 17, 2014

I love anything rock n roll!

It’s all about expressing yourself with a little attitude. And to me when it comes to showcasing my outward appearance, that means taking elements from all genres – whether that be punk, glam, hard rock, heavy metal, grunge, or even country. Yes, country! That’s where outlaws got their start!

I could spend hours scouring the Internet. Looking up outfit combinations, make-up looks or hairstyles.  I love seeing how others can throw together an outfit – it really helps me when I feel like I have nothing to wear, or to open my eyes in terms of thinking of different ways in putting together a look. Now, you could say that I’m being a copycat and that I’m not being authentic, but I would tell you that I don’t give a fuck! I love emulating the things I like. It makes me kind of feel like a chameleon. I can feel like someone else for a day or I can dress myself up to look more like how I feel.

To me, style is all about creating something. It’s expressing an emotion, a feeling - a way of expressing without using language!

What’s a better way to express oneself than through the avenue of music? It might seem clichéd when I say, ‘music is my life’ but I would be lying if I didn’t!

If I’m not making music, watching music videos or listening to my CDs or vinyl, you can definitely catch me seeing and hearing it live and in person - no joke! I think a good majority of my money spent is going to concerts.

And luckily for me, some of my favourite artists and bands have so much style!
For example, take The Kills (not to be confused with The Killers…who suck. Kidding. Well, they have a few good songs…) both members are drenched in style!

M∙A∙C Cosmetics Announce The Rocky Horror Picture Show Collection
